What is a supportive case study for the Working Memory Model?
Patient KF - damaged his left parietal occipital region from motorbike crash. He had poor STM auditory info but could process visual info - he could recall letters / digits better when he read them, but not when read to him
Patient KF's phonological loop was damaged, but his visuospatial sketchpad was intact
What are some limitations of the working memory model?
The Central Executive is too vague and untestable, and patient EVR had a cerebral tumour removed, and performed well on reasoning but poorly on decision-making
A limitation of the Working Memory model is that the Visuospatial sketchpad implies all spatial info was once visual, however blind people have excellent spatial awareness
