PLOT OF THE STORY

• Exposition - The beginning of the story when the setting and main characters are introduced.
• Inciting Incident - the event that causes the conflict.
• Rising Action - lead up to the most intense moment.
• Climax - The moment in the story is when it is at its highest point; a sudden change in the story.
• Falling Action - help resolve the conflict.
• Resolution - ending of the story.
• Theme is a central or main idea for what it focuses on the story.
• A character is a person, or sometimes even an animal, who takes part in the action of a short story or other literary texts.
