    One reason is to uphold a basic right, its a right and a responsibility to vote, its important to vote and uphold a democracy especially when so many young people cant vote If many Scots do not vote the vote may be unrepresentitive for example in 2021 the Scottish parliament elections turnout was a record High (63.2%.)
  • one reason people vote - to support a particular party
    another reason is to show support for a party many people may vote tactically against some parties to make sure they remain out of power for example people vote for conservatives because they focus on the economy.

    another reason people may vote is to show support for a particular cause, issues are things voter believe are important and policies are what parties promise to do about that, some issues are more significant than others because more voters care about them for example some people are in favour of scottish independence and may vote for a party that supports this too like SNP or scottish green.
