  • Guidelines for use of Reinforcement
    • Selecting the behaviour to be increased
    • Specific, observable, measurable
    • Select behaviour trying to change/improve
    • What behaviour are you trying to influence
    • Behaviour that drives reward
  • Guidelines for use of Reinforcement
    • Choosing an effective reinforcement
    • Select reinforcers that;
    • (a) Are readily available
    • (b) Can be used immediately following the desired behaviour
    • So person receiving it connects the dots
    • So are motivated to do that behaviour again
    • (c) Can be used over and over again without losing their ‘meaning’ / effect (use a variety of reinforcers)
