  • Intrinsically motivated behaviours are those that a person performs to feel competent & self-determining

  • Differentiation bw/ intrinsic & extrinsic
  • Sounds like task motivation (competent & ability)
  • Compare to self = intrinsic 
  • compare to others = extrinsic 
  • Do it because you WANT to

  • Personal & unique 
  • Own interests
  • Bc/ definition says absence of extrinsic doesn’t mean extrinsic motivation/rewards are always bad & that it can influence intrinsic motivation
