  • What is Cardiovascular Disease (CVD)?

    A group of diseases affecting the heart and blood vessels, often caused by the build up of fatty deposits in arteries (atherosclerosis).
  • Causes of CVD:

    • Lifestyle factors: High-fat diet, lack of exercise, smoking, excessive alcohol.
    • Medical factors: High blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes.
    • Genetics: Family history of heart disease.
  • Examples of CVD:

    • Coronary heart disease (CHD).
    • Stroke.
    • Heart attack.
  • Symptoms of CVD:

    • Chest pain (angina).
    • Shortness of breath.
    • Fatigue.
    • Dizziness or fainting.
