    There is a temporary blue ice run way open during the summer months, people tend to fly from Argentina.

    They stay in thermal tents which are taken down at the end of the tourist season.
  • What special features do the tents have?
    They can retain heat from the sun (24hr sunlight) and have a wooden floor to insulate them.
  • Why are showers limited to one every 2/3 days?
    To conserve water and all waste water has to be removed from Antarctica.
  • What happens to human waste?
    All human waste has to be removed from Antarctica, guests keep solid and liquid waste separate to make it easier to transport.
  • What activities do visitors do?
    Walking, climbing, visit penguin colonies, ski to South Pole
