kamikaze
a
Japanese
pilot trained in
WW2
to make a suicidal crash attack, usually on a ship
embarked at
sunrise
Japan
was also known as the land of the rising sun
links
character to culture
like bunting
ironic because it sound
celebratory
but what he is about to do is arguable
devastating
but his emperor and country are worth celebrating
turbulent
suggests the pilot is experiencing internal conflict- wants to fufill duty but also wants to live
lines run on like his memories as he gets lost in them-
enjambment
swivelled
towards the sun
sibilant
sounds emphasise the innocent beauty of the place- contrasts with the
violence
of his potential
suicide
which had been the better way to die
highlights that he died in the eyes of the family
tone of
regret
and sympathy at this situation, he had no way out
