      -focuses on desirable ideal instead of undersirable
      L-identify thhat people need to be mentally healthy rather than identifying problems
      -theraputic aimsa nd goals are set in treatment
      H- Positive as it is useful for people deemed mentally unwell
    • AO3- Equates medical and physical health

      E- applies principes of physical health to mental health
      -physical health is easy to diagnose
      -possible that mental health conditions are beacuse physical causes
      L- many however aren't , and are through life experiences
      H- unlikely that we could diagnose mental abnormalitiy in te same way we diagnose physical abnormality
    • AO3- Cultural Relativism
      E- Jahodas criteria is too culturally bound
      E- Self actualisation is only relevant for peolpe in individalistic cultures, and not those who promote the needs of the group
      L-higher abnormality in collectivised cultures comapred to individualistic ones
      H- limitis the usefullness of the definition to search in many cultural groups
