Special relativity

• The speed of light in a vacuum is constant and the same for all observers, therefore if an object travels close to the speed of light, measures such as mass, length and time change
• Time dilation is the difference in elapsed time between 2 clocks due to a difference in relative velocity
• length contraction: when the length of a moving object close to the speed of light is observed to be shorter than the true length
