      One of the most important mechanisms of parliamentary scrutiny is question time. The most well known example of question time is PMQs. PMQs take place every Wednesday at 12pm and last 30 mins. During PMQs the PM can be questioned by MPs from all parties, there are 15 questions on the order paper and the leader of the opp is given 6 questions. PMQs is a widely publicised event and for many it’s only time they take notice of what’s happening parliament. Although it may sound effective, it has been argued that it has become more of a “punch & Judy” politics and more about PPS than scrutiny

      in November 2021, the speaker sir Lindsay Hoyle intervened multiple times when Boris Johnson refused to sit down and actually address the matter at hand
