One of the most important mechanisms of parliamentary scrutiny is question time. The most wellknown example of question time is PMQs. PMQs take place every Wednesday at 12pm and last 30 mins. During PMQs the PM can be questioned by MPs from allparties, there are 15questions on the order paper and the leader of the opp is given 6 questions. PMQs is a widely publicised event and for many it’s only time they takenotice of what’s happening parliament. Although it may soundeffective, it has been argued that it has become more of a “punch & Judy” politics and more about PPS than scrutiny
