• Covered walkways surrounding the front and back of the house
• Inspired by the Italian Renaissance
• Allowed Bess and her guests to exercise during bad weather, and enjoy the garden during bad weather
• The loggia were originally meant to run around the whole base of the house, but this would have cut off light to the lower levels
