  monosaccharides for absorption - common monosaccharides: Glucose, fructose, or galactose 
• Enzymes involved in

  carbohydrate digestion
• Amylases in saliva and pancreatic juice help digest

  starches - cannot digest cellulose (fiber)
• Brush border enzymes in wall of small intestine


  alpha - dextrinase, lactase, maltase, and sucrase
