    Procedure
The study involved 120 participants divided into two age groups: 60 university students and 60 older adults. These participants were paired and shown a video of the same staged crime (a woman stealing money from a wallet), but with each person in the pair viewing the event from different angles. This meant that certain details visible to one participant were not visible to the other. For instance, one perspective showed the woman committing the theft, while the other did not.
  • The participants were divided into two conditions:
    • Experimental Condition: Participants in this condition were instructed to discuss the event with their partner after watching the video. This discussion provided an opportunity for participants to exchange information and potentially introduce details that the other partner had not seen.
    • Control Condition: Participants in this condition did not discuss the event after watching the video. Instead, they individually recalled what they had seen without external input.
  • After the discussion (or lack thereof), all participants completed a questionnaire designed to assess their memory of the event. The questionnaire contained questions about specific details, some of which could only be known if they had been acquired during the discussion rather than directly observed.
