proteins begin to form spindle fibres which attach to the centromere
What happens during metaphase?
spindle apparatus is fully formed and chromosomes are aligned at the equator of the cell
What happens during anaphase?
centromeres divide into two and spindle fibres begin to shorten
What happens during telophase?
chromatids reach their poles
chromosomes uncoil into chromatin
nuclear membrane reforms
What happens during cytokinesis?
Cytoskeleton pulls the cell membrane inwards creating a groove. Membranes then fuse forming 2 identical daughter cells
What is the difference between plant cells and animal cells during the M-phase?
plant cells don't have centrioles, and they also cant create a groove so vesicles from the golgi forms membrane structures down the middle of the cell which forms a cell wall.
