Elections are held by the Electoral Comission - an unaffiliated body
Laws are made to limit campaigning - spending limits and equal broadcasting rights, this also includes the purdah (4 - 6 weeks wherein new proposals are not allowed)
Universal Suffrage
Everyone over the age of 18 and that is not mentally incapable, a peer or a prisoner, can vote and all votes are equal in value, regardless of age, gender, or race
