    The culture which an organisation adopts can be identified by:
    • Historic decision making process
    • The size and nature of the business
    • The number of employees involved in the decision making process
    • Management Structure
    • Flexible working practices
  • Corporate Culture
    In order to create a positive culture, businesses and management should:
    • Put appropriate policies in place - eg how to deal with customers. This then influences staff behaviour
    • Adopt a positive leadership style, consulting the employees on their views. This influences the attitude and motivation of staff
    • Have a mission statement which sets out and reinforces the underlying values of the organisation. This then encourages staff to achieve these aims
  • Corporate Culture In order to create a positive culture, businesses and management should:
    • Have a dress code or uniform. Staff then have a sense of belonging and this promotes a single corporate identity.
    • Look at the structure adopted. Hierarchical, centralised structures will be more formal whereas decentralised, flat structures will be less formal
    • Pay attention tp the physical environment which has been chosen - eg open plan layout can be seen to be more sociable with fewer barriers to communication and displaying logos promotes the identity of the organisation

    • Improved customer satisfaction and loyalty as the consumers associate with that organisation due to brand/logos
    • Increased staff motivational they can associate with the organisation and achieve a sense of belonging
    • Staff can move between branches/departments easier as they are aware of the policies and practices

    • Staff will form an identity with the organisation which could result in reduced absences or lower staff turnover
    • A single corporate identity is given to customers which will alow customers to feel comfortable with products/services wherever they are
    • The organisation can be easily recognised anywhere which will mean more customers and greater customer loyalty
