  ● Makes up the floor of the diencephalon; under the thalamus

  ○ Hormonal input of anterior pituitary gland

  ○ Limbic System — emotional-visceral brain

  ■ Involved in memory processing

  ○ Mammillary Bodies

  ■ Reflex centers involved in olfaction (smell)
