• STRUCTURE OF A NERVE

  ● Nerves — are bundles of neurons found outside the CNS

  ● Within a nerve, neuron fibers are wrapped in protective tissue

  coverings
• STRUCTURE OF A NERVE

  ● Layers of coverings:

  ○ Endoneurium – connective tissue sheath that surrounds each

  fiber

  ○ Perineurium – coarser connective tissue that wraps groups of

  fibers bound into a fascicle

  ○ Epineurium – tough fibrous sheath that binds groups of

  fascicles
