  • How do Vaccines Work?

    2. Produces antibodies (In the presence of an antigen)
    ○ Proteins produced by immune system in order to fight disease
Specificity = The binding of the antigen and antibody are based on its receptors.
    3. Remembers disease and how to fight it
    ○ If exposed to the germ in the future, the immune system can destroy it before you become unwell. (Immunity lasts for several years)
  • Memory Cells - Cells in the immune system that recognizes the microorganism or agent.
