L2.7.8: Sites of Immunization

• MMR Vaccine

  Upper arm or Deltoid (Subcutaneously or Intramuscularly)
• BCG Vaccine

  Upper arm or Deltoid (Intramuscularly or intradermal)
• Oral Polio Vaccine

  Orally (Mouth) in the form of drops (patak)
• Pentavalent Vaccine and IPV Vaccine

  Upper Thighs or Vastus Lateralis (intramuscularly)

  ● While Hepa-B and PCV vaccines can also be injected in the upper thighs, it must be on the opposite thigh to prevent inflammation of the vastus lateralis. (Remember P.O.P.)
