  • WATER RESOURCES
    ● Water covers almost three-fourths of the earth's surface, and most of it is located in the ocean.
    ● The majority of freshwater is in groundwater, which is found below the earth's surface, and the remaining freshwater is found in lakes, rivers, and streams.
    ● Natural sources of water are considered to be useful resources. Agricultural, domestic, recreational, and environmental uses for water are all common. Additionally, all plants and animals, as well as the human body, comprise around 70% water.

  • Sources of Water ● Surface Water
    ○ Surface water is any body of water that is found on the earth's surface. Streams, lakes, and creeks are included in the surface water. Surface water is a part of both the hydrological cycle and the water cycle. Precipitation occurs in surface water.
  • Sources of Water
    Ground Water
    ○ When rainwater penetrates through the ground and onto the impermeable rocks below the surface of the Earth, this water will be called groundwater.
Occasionally forms springs because of intense pressure. It can be obtained via drilling wells or sinking tube wells. Underneath the surface of the land, groundwater flows through and fills fissures in the rocks.
    ○ Aquifer: a type of underground rock that transfers and stores groundwater.
