  The inspector makes the characters to confess to their responsibilities. The younger generation learn lessons from exposure of lies and hypocrisy.

  Stresses the fact all people in society should share responsibility for one another, despite difference in social class. It is the hidden message that Priestley wants to share.
• "The money is not the important thing. It's what happened to that girl and what we did that matters"


  Shows the younger generation understand their responsibility having socialist attitudes towards helping people, juxtaposing their parents capitalistic views.
