China relationships

• Tibet:

  • Some want political seperation from China. China is atheist so accused of supressing religion + culture.
• Tibet:

  • Tensions risen as they undergo demographic engineering - Chinese people encuraged to move in. High speed railway from Tibet to Qinghai
• Japan:

  • Historic tensions - improved recently due to increased trade
  • Worsened when US were stationed
• Taiwan:

  • Each country claims to be the each other's legitimate government
  • Very poor relationship. Beijing keeps on threatening to invade.
• North Korea:

  • Chinese Ally
  • China wants split Korean peninsular to reduce pro western influence which threatens China
• India:

  • High tensions based on border disputes. Both have military presence in Himalayan border - 20 Indian soldiers 5 Chinese in 2020 clash
• India:

  • India suspicious of relationship with Pakistan and China
• India:

  • China has warned India against getting involved with the South China sea
• Pakistan:

  • China has invested $46b via the belt and road initative into the country
