    Point -When we first meet Friar Lawrence he speaks in a philosophical tone showing he is dually intelligent and naïve as he warns us how nature is beautiful yet deadly-yet cannot make the connection between couple’s love.

    Point -Friar Lawrence expresses his foolish arrogance when marrying Romeo and Juliet believing he is above fate and challenges it yet acknowledges it. His actions are contradictory as he facilitates the reckless decision yet warns them against it, possibly showing his selfish desire for peace.

    Point - When Romeo asks Fl for help after being banished, Fl’s desire for control is portrayed through tension showing his lack of emotional intelligence juxtaposing his philosophical tone in Act 1.

    Point - When Fl helps Juliet with a plan to fake her death his effort to try reverse nature is dangerously unnatural possibly triggering fatal consequences. His attempt at trying to reverse death is blasphemous and places himself above God in the chain of being which culminates utter destruction.

    Point- In the final scene Fl is frightened and consumed with guilt, he finally realises his naivety and how his desperation to create peace caused pain. He first flees the tomb showing his extreme guilt.
