• The organisation has to rely on suppliers to deliver on time and give good quality.
• There will be many small deliveries so admin and delivery costs will be higher.
• Any delays in delivery can hold up production.
• Unexpected orders or increases in demand may not be able to be met.
• Buying in smaller quantities may mean losing out on bulk buying discounts.
