• This is where the product is checked at several stages throughout the production process - this is about prevention. All staff are responsible for checking that standards are met.
• Advantages:

  • Less wastage as errors are discovered earlier - prevention.
• Disadvantages:

  • Time taken to complete regular checks.
  • Quality standards have to be set and adhered to and this can be expensive to set up.
