The prophets were inspired to see God's work in a special way. They saw their task as encouraging everybody to stay faithful to God. As they warned and guided people, the passed on God's word and message
Christians believe that Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. God speaks directly to all people through Jesus. The Gospels present the teachings and actions of Jesus - the 'Word-made-flesh'
The Epistles (or letters) were written to help Christians apply the principles of Jesus' teachings to their everyday lives. The apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit, and therefore inspired to preach and teach God's word
The Magisterium
Consists of the Pope and bishops who have the authority to shape and conform Christian teachings. Catholics believe the Magisterium is continually inspired by the Holy Spirit
