Probability

• an experiment is a repeatable activity
• Outcome is the result of an experiment
• Sample space is all possible outcomes

• Independent is when one event doesn't affect the probability of the other
• Mutually exclusive is when events can't occur simultaneously
• Venn diagrams shows relationship between 2 or more data sets
• To find probabilities on tree diagrams, multiply along branches (and), add final outcomes (or)
• Conditional probability is when the probability of one event happening can depend on another event happening or not happening, key terminology is 'given'
