    Changing behaviour or beliefs to fit in with others

    Conforming publicly with views and actions but privately disagree. occours when want to achieve favourable reaction from others adopted due to need for approval temp change. E.g agreeing with friends but privately disagree
  • What is identification
    Association with group to feel membership, conform to expectations of social group (police) temporary e.g only doing behaviour at work
  • What is internalisation
    Permanently adopt veiw of group and becomes own veiw, likely if veiw is similar.
    Permanent public + private e.g. becoming vegan after living with vegans
