  A positively charged protein containing high concentrations of amino acids with additional base groups (-NH2) eg lysine and arginine
• What is DNA wrapped around?

  histones
• DNA is wrapped around histones

  This process continues to repeat and the bead like thread coils up to form CHROMATIN

  These coils then loop again around a scaffold protein made of non-histone fibre
