Cards (6)

    • Once a week on Wednesday and last 30 minutes to 1 hour
    • Prime Minister faces 6 questions from the leader of opposition and 2 more from leaders of other opposition. These questions aim to attack government on its policy.
    • Frequent chance for MPs to openly scrutinise and ask questions to embarrass and scrutinise government.
    • Puts Prime Minister on the spot and doesn’t know the questions beforehand.
    • However most MPs belong to governing party so many sweetheart questions are asked which give Prime Minister chance to praise own government rather than scrutinise
    • Ultimately unlikely to truly scrutinise government well as although opposition get to ask questions, a lot of questions come from back bench MPs asking about local constituency matter rather than government policy
