Predestination

• Sunni Muslims beliefs on predestination

  -Nothing can happen unless God has willed it to happen

  -God has determined everything

  -He created all things which shows his omnipotence

  -God has written down everything that will happen to all people in one book.

  -This means humans do not have freewill to change their own destiny
• Shia Muslims beliefs on predestination

  -Believes God knows everything that will happen but it doesn't mean that he decides what is going to happen

  -They believe God is outside of time so not bound by it (transcendent)

  -Means God can see everything but doesn't cause them to happen

  -People have the freedom to change their future

  "God does not change the condition of people unless they change what is in themselves"
