Important Elements Of The Communication Process

• Sender – initiates the communication
• Receiver – the individual to whom the message is sent
• Encode – the idea by selecting the words, symbols, or gestures with which to compose the message
• Message – the outcome of the encoding or an idea that someone is trying to express
• Decode – the received message into meaningful information
• Medium – the channel or the means of communication
• Noise – anything that distorts the message
• Feedback Mechanism – occurs when the receivers responds to the sender’s message and returns the message to the sender
