Positives and Negatives

• Is the Ripple effect positive or negative?


  Negative because it could have a very bad effect on not just people who are immediate victims but victims in the future.
• Is cultural differences Positive or Negative?

  Negative because people may end up committing crimes or even be offended as they do not know the rules of the area. This could be a problem as you aedoing something legal which could be seen as illegal to someone else.
• Is Procedural Change Positive or Negative?


  Positive because it makes it a lot easier to report crime. People will also not feel embarrassed as you can now depending on the app and circumstances report different things anonymously. They don’t have to discuss the crime with anyone but can still report it.
• Is the Broken Windows Theory Positive or Negative?

  Entirely Negative because it can lead to worse crimes such as drug dealing rape and murder.
• Is police prioritisation positive or negative?

  It can be positive because police can potentially focus on the more serious crime. Sometimes there can be multiple problems that the police can’t focus all there attention to each.
• Is unrecorded crime positive or negative?

  Can lead to inaccurate data when calculating number of crimes committed. If people see less reports of crimes that they have been victims of they are a lot less likely to report it maybe because they no longer believe it’s a crime or the fact that the police just wouldn’t follow it through giving them no reason to support it.
• Is decriminalisation positive or negative?


  Positive, this is because the police can focus there attention on the more serious crimes. This may mean that a life is saved or someone is prevented from being in a potentially serious situation.
• Is legal change positive or negative?

  Usually Positive most of the change is for good and things that should already be legal.
