  Synchronised DC shock (up to 3 attempts)

  If conscious = sedation or anaesthesia

  If unsuccessful...

  • amiodarone 300mg IV over 10-20 mins
  • repeat synchronised DC shock
• What is the management of broad complex regular tachycardia?

  Loading dose of amiodarone, then 24 hr infusions
• What is the management of narrow complex tachycardia?

  Vagal manoeuvres

  If ineffective...

  • adenosine (6mg rapid IV bolus, then 12mg (if unsuccessful), then 18mg (if unsuccessful))
  • monitor ECG continuously

  If ineffective...

  • verapamil or beta blocker

  If ineffective...

  • synchronised DC shock (up to 3 times)
