    Ellis ABC model:
    • Activating event - depression occurs when we experience negative events such as ending relationship.
    • Beliefs - negative events trigger irrational beliefs
    • Consequences - when an activating event triggers irrational beliefs there are emotional and behavioural consequences such as believing you must always succeed.
