    The ability to meet the demands of your environment

    A form of physical activity done to improve or maintain your fitness/health in a non competitive way

    A method of training that varies terrain and speed

    High-intensity exercise alternated with periods of rest or low-intensity exercise.

    The range of movement at a joint
  • What is muscular strength ?
    The amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance
  • What is muscular endurance?
    The ability to use voluntary muscles many times without getting tired
  • What is power ?
    The ability to undertake strength performances quickly

    The ability to exercise your whole body for long periods of time
  • frequency- how often you train should be 3-4 times a week
  • intensity-how hard you train
  • progressive overload- increasing the distance or weight of a task slowly over a long period of time
  • overtraining- training the same muscles or body part without resting resulting in injury
  • individual needs- what a person needs to train or how hard the session is depending on age and gender
  • specificity- training specific to a sport e.g a swimmer would train in a pool rather than on a bike
  • reversability- when injured or not training progress will be lost twice as fast as it was gained
  • thresholds of training- training within 60-80% of your max heart rate to improve cardiovascular fitness
