Many cuts isolated to the epidermis won't scar but if a cut makes it to the dermis, it will often scar.
Scars won't look like the rest of the skin because when fibroblasts are generating collagen they tend to not arrange it in the same pattern that was originally there before.
Things like sweat glands or hair will also not be recreated there
Scar tissue tends to have less elasticity, and if its a big scar this can affect movement
A keloid is when too much collagen is produced and the fibroblasts keep trying to fix a scar even when it's already been fixed.
