• Don't want to look foolish/stupid so we follow groups norms.
• Tends to lead to compliance.
• An emotional process, as it is to do with how we feel.

  • Wanting approval from friends.
  • Stressful situations when you need support.
  • Situations with strangers, when we dont want rejection.
