    • what is a strength?
research support- organised offender. Canter conducted analysis of 100 murders. Smallest space analysis- a statistical technique that shows correlations across sample of behaviour. Has validity
    • what is a counterpoint to canter
not mutually exclusive. Variety of combinations occur at any given murder scene. Godwin- difficult to classify killers as one or other type. Victim may be smart and sexual competent but leaves body at spontaneous murder. Probably more of a continuum.
    • what is another strength?
Can be adapted to other types of crime- burglary. Technique only applies to limited number of crimes like sexual murder, but Meketa— 85% rise in solver cases. Detection method- add interpersonal- knows the person steals significance, opportunistic- young. -wider application than assumed
    • give a limitation
-evidence it is based on. Sample that FBI profiling did was poor did not select large enough sample or different kinds of offender- each interview was different (not comparable) -no sound scientific basis
    • eval extra
