• Bussey and Bandura- children aged 2 who did not know what age they were, still behaved in gender stereotypical ways- for example in choice of toy. Cannot explain why children would actively engage in gender consistent behaviour before the development of a schema. Therefore SLT>GST.
• Quadango/Feder and Whalen- GST cannot explain why gender stereotypical behaviour changes significantly with levels of testosterone.
