• Episodic memory is experiences and specific events
• Semantic memory is fact, meaning, concepts and knowladge about the world
• Procedural memory is unconscious memory of skills also known as muscle memory
• Episodic memory:

  • recall consciously
  • easiest to forget
  • emotional strength= memory strength
• Semantic Memory:

  • declarative
  • not time stamped
  • recall consciously
  • resistant to forgetting
  • deep processing= strength
• Procedural Memory:

  • non declarative
  • not time stamped
  • not recalled consciously
  • very resistant to forgetting
• Episodic memory is stored in the prefrontal cortex
• Semantic memory is stored in the parahippacampael cortex
• Procedural memory is stored in the motor cortex and cerebellum
