    • she has come to the conclusion that the real tesman, and the tesman she thought he was, are two very different people. he would not protect her the way she thought he would, he did not love her the way she thought he did. he loved the idea of her, the idea of an idealistic life, with a obeying wife, not her.
    • shows her having her epiphany moment, this is when she finally realises she's been living a deluded life
  • (11) "you mustn't feel bound to me in any way, however small, just as i shall not feel bound to you. we must both be quite free. here is your ring back"
    • 'here is your ring back', this 'ring' symbolises their entire relationship, not only does a ring seal a marriage, torvald viewed nora as an object, some pretty to look at and something other people would be jealous of. when nora physically returned the ring, this is her taking control over herself, no longer will she be viewed this way by him, something so simple conveys the end of their relationship

    • this reflects their true love, as they've finally chosen to be together, not out of necessity or forced to by society
    • this also shows equality between genders as he's shown to her the impact she had on him when she left

    • hedda has died 'beatifully'
    • this highlights how much power and having the most power meant to her, as soon as one person had more than her she kills herself
    • which can be seen as either an escape, or one last attempt at regaining control
