      • Gender bias - the differential treatment or representation of men & women based on stereotypes rather than real differences.
      • Androcentrism - centred on men.
      • Alpha bias - exaggerates differences between men & women. E.g. Freud's theories devalued women
      • Beta bias - underestimates gender differences . People assume what's true for men is also true for women. E.g. Fight or flight in men whereas tend & befriend in women
      • Universality - the aim to develop theories that apply to all people, which may include real differences
