    Guidelines followed by all psychologists when planning, conducting and reporting research.
    • The British Psychological Society need to approve any studies that are happening (like regulation).

    • Informed consent

  • What does Privacy and confidentiality mean?
    Not sharing the participants information to anyone else.
  • What does Deception mean?
    Lying to participants for the purpose of the study.
  • What does Right to withdraw mean?
    Allowing participants to leave at any time during the experiment.
  • What does Informed consent mean?
    Receiving permission from participants for them to be used in the experiment.
  • What does Protection from harm mean?
    Making sure the experiment doesn't get out of hand.

  • What does Retrospective consent mean?
    Where the researcher asks the participant for consent after the experiment has happened.
  • What does cost-benefit analysis mean?
    Benefits and costs are measured, and whichever is in favour will determine whether the experiment happens.
