• What does Target population mean?

  People who we want to find out about, which has the desired characteristics.
• What does Sample mean?

  Who we are finding out about (a group of the target population).
• What are the 5 types of sampling and what do they mean?

  • Random: Using chance to pick participants.
  • Systematic: Participants are chosen using a pattern.
  • Volunteer: Participants volunteer themselves.
  • Opportunity: Using the people who are available.
  • Stratified: Identify strata, work out proportions and then use random sampling.
