What are Descriptive statistics?
The use of graphs, tables and summary statistics to identify trends and analyse sets of data.
What are the 2 types of descriptive statistics and what do they mean?
Measures of central tendency: Any measures of the average value.
Mean - add all values, divide by the number of values.
Median - middle value
Mode - most common value
Measures of dispersion: Any measures of the spread/variation
Range - difference between highest and lowest value
Standard deviation - how much each value deviates from the mean
