  • What is the role of Abstract and what does it include?
    A summary of the overall nature of your investigation.
    • Aim, alternate hypothesis, design, variables, EVs, participants, results, conclusion, implications.
  • What is the role of the Introduction and what does it include?
    Relevant background theory and studies which are written in a logical manner to put the aim and hypothesis into context.
  • What is the role of the Method and what does it include?
    Step by step process of what you have done in your research.
    • DAPP = design, participant, procedure
  • What is the role of the Results and what does it include?
    • Descriptive stats = mean, standard deviation, median, mode etc.
    • Inferential stats = binomial sign test, Mann Whitney U test, Wilcoxon signed rank test, Chi squared, Spearman's Rho
  • What is the role of the Discussion and what does it include?
    Provides an explanation of your results, linking back/comparing to the research mentioned in your introduction. Provides weaknesses and modifications for future studies and an overall conclusion.
  • What is the role of Appendices and what does it include?
    Consent form, standardised instructions, ethics sheet, materials, raw data, statistical analysis.
  • What is the role of References and what does it include?
    • Book = author, date, title, edition, where it was published, published, page number
    • Journal article = author, date, title of journal, name of journal, volume/issue, page number
