Medial epicondylitis

  • Medial epicondylitis:
    • Also called golfer's elbow
    • Similar condition to tennis elbow but affects the flexor tendons that attach at the medial epicondyle of the humerus
  • Presentation:
    • Pain and tenderness at the medial epicondyle
    • Pain often radiated down the forearm
    • Can lead to weakness in grip strength
  • Exam:
    • Pain on active wrist flexion against resistance whilst palpating over the medial epicondyle
  • Management is the same as for lateral epicondylitis
